My Review

This is the first book in a three book series by Anna Kyss. This is a 219 page book.

Now that Meghan has graduated and is free to do as she pleases;she decides to live a little. When she meets the very charming Kiernan, he pulls at her heartstrings and she can't help, but accept his date proposal. This date isn't the normal dinner/movie, but it is full of adventure and the quest for freedom. Kiernan isn't just your normal person and Meghan soon realizes that when Kiernan is forced by his father to drink her blood. After escaping the horrible Underground, she is forced to seek shelter in a Fae village. As she starts to fall deeper in the web of Fae and lies she learns the truth. Who are the Fae? Will the truth be her undoing?

This was a GREAT book! It had some romance, but it was mainly on Meghan's trials and errors as she tries to blend in amongst the Fae. I was definitely not expecting the ending, which ended, sorta, on a cliff-hanger. This is a book for all ages and I would definitely recommend this book to Fantasy lovers.

My Review

This is the first book in a three book series by Ashley Stoyanoff. This is a 260 page book.

Jade Shaw lives in a place called Dog Mountain, probably because it is full of werewolf with only a few humans, including Jade. She has always hated the pack, but somehow she always ended up stuck in between them and a fight. This time is no different when a new alpha takes over the pack and a new guy comes to town. Aidan's life hasn't been the best, but all of his father's abuse only made him stronger. When he meets Jade his whole world will change around and his status won't stay secret for long. A new alpha couple needs to be picked before the werecougars find their way into Dog Mountain. A battle is eminent and Jade finds herself making hard choices and actually starting t care for the alpha. Who is the alpha? What secrets are hidden from Jade?

This was a GREAT book!! This was a romantic drama with twists and turns. When you thought something was happening you would soon realize that there was a different angle instead. It was a bit difficult to follow with different points of view, but that isn't too bad. This is a book for most ages, with only mild cussing and kissing scenes. I would definitely recommend this for Teen Wolf fans.

I never paid much attention to Kimberly Dawson, but I knew who she was. Ice Queen was what we called her. She was gorgeous, no one could deny that. But she was also a condescending bitch which was enough reason for me to stay the hell away from her. She thought I was a dumb jock and that was okay until she came crashing into my life. Against my better judgment, I let her embroil me in her shenanigans, forcing us to spend too much time together. It was my doom. She got under my skin, she was all I could think about. I never thought I would be the knight in shining armor to anyone, not until she came along.

My Review

This is a novella to the "Love Me, I'm Famous" series by M.H, Soars. This book is 185 pages.

Kimberly has always had a boring life, a boring boyfriend, and all she thought about was studying and doing homework. She always thought Owen Whitefield was just a stupid jock with a big ego and he always thought she was just a heartless witch, but when their worlds collide they learn how similar they really are. They can't stop thinking about each other and when they must join forces to prove the innocents of a friend that got framed by another, they have to work together. Kimberly and Owen have been playing the jealousy game and they still don't realize their love for each other. Will they realize that they care for each other? Who framed Kimberly's friend? Will their little adventure bring them closer or tear them apart?

This was a good book!! The plot was interesting and I think the author did a GREAT job explaining the lives of teenagers and their daily struggles. I definitely felt a part of this book and it was a good feeling. I don't usually review NA books, but when I was given the chance to review this book at UTOPYA I had to. This does have the F-bomb in it and a few scenes... WARNING: They aren't total fade-to-black!! I would have given it five stars, but it is NA and that isn't what my blog is about. This book would be recommended for 17 or older. YA falls under the category as 16 and older, so that's why it is labeled as YA.

My Review

This is the first book in a six book series by Nikki Jefford. This book is 260 pages long.

Aurora Sky's life hasn't been the best an eighteen year old could have. The people who she thought were her friends aren't actually her friends at all. She hasn't even had her first kiss, but everything will change when she is killed in an accident. The government has been looking for people with special blood and when they find a dead Aurora, they will do everything in their power to save her. But saving her might just do more damage than good. When Aurora finds that the price for her being brought back was to kill the living dead, she becomes conflicted. After she learns of her fate, she decides to make a resolution. When she meets Fane, she is instantly drawn to his bad boy demeanor. Will Aurora survive all of the tests and killing? Who can she trust? Why was she saved?

This was a GREAT book!! The book had a good plot with conflicts and twists. It only took me two hours to finish this book, because I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The reason this book is labeled a four-star is because it is NA. I wasn't aware that it was NA until I started reading it. I wouldn't recommend this to teens. It has the F-word a lot and it has a sex scene. The scene isn't very detailed, but it isn't recommended for teen viewers. I would consider this for YA readers, but be warned. If I didn't just review clean teen/ YA books this would be five-stars. It was a GREAT book that ended on a huge cliff-hanger. Great job, Nikki Jefford!

My Review

This is the first book in a four book series by Desni Dantone. This book is 344 pages long.

Kris has been traumatized with a series of events that she came out of alive, while her loved ones died. Kris has always remembered her savior(who she though was her guardian angel), and she has always wanted to question him. When evil comes to Kris's doorstep demanding compliance, she gets to, once again, witness the hot wrath that is her savior, Nathan. Secrets are being kept from her for her own "safety", but what neither of them know is all of the knowledge that Kris doesn't know is actually quite vital for her survival. Along the way of survival comes feelings and secrets will be revealed. Why does evil need Kris? Who is Nathan? Will they survive together?

This was a GREAT book! I was always kept on my toes and there were some VERY unexpected complications that both Nathan and Kris had to face. What I really liked was the use of Greek Mythology told from a different point of view. I really want to read the next book and hope to have the chance to. There was definitely a LOT of humor and I think I freaked my mom out all of the times she caught me laughing hysterically. :p  There is cussing, but the F-Bomb isn't one of them. The most parents will have to worry about is violence, which also isn't too bad. I would definitely consider this clean teen/ya appropriate.

My Review

This is the second book in The Sage Springs Series by Hollie Westring. This book is 262 pages long.

Ivy's life in Sage Springs has done her good after her past. Her past is catching up to her, but she has her friends and Oliver, her ghostly lover. She knows she can't love a ghost, because that is absurd... Or at least that's what Ivy thought. On her birthday she gets the gift of a life time. Not only does Oliver have a few human days to really live, she gets to really enjoy life. Her past problems have to be admitted if she wants to keep Oliver as a human. Will Ivy and Oliver be together? Is Oliver going to stay a human or be gone for good? What is so bad about Ivy's past that makes her have to hide?

This was a great book!! I love the fact that Oliver is eating a lot of junk food on his "last days" as a human. I also find myself laughing at every one of Ivy's candle names and the name of the shop. The romance is lovely and there are few curse words. This is a book for most ages. I would like to thank Hollie for this GREAT series that I am able to read because of her!!

This is Sudden Hope by Daniele Lanzarotta and it is 240 pages long.

Alec and Skylar have been neighbors for a long time and a friendship blossomed from this... They were friends for years until a stupid mistake and Alec's sickness ruined what they had. Alec has had a tough life and his friend Kyle will stop at nothing to make him happy again, even if it means being a third-wheel to Alex and Skylar. Skylar has lost the people she cares about the most and she needs Alec now more than ever. Will Alec break all his rules for Skylar? What will happen to Alec seeing as he's sick?

I don't usually read contemporary, but this book was a pleasant surprise. I really liked this book and how both Skylar and Alec have struggles they fight through together!! It is a cute romance with sadness and twists that will make you want to break down in tears. This is on my Top 10 list for my favorite contemporary books, mostly because I don't even have ten on my list. This is a book for most ages with only mild cussing and no sexual scenes. Kudos to the author for her AWESOME writing skills!!

This is the first book in a three book series by M.S. Watson. This book is 163 pages long.

Myths were supposed to be just that...Myths. But when two twins end up abandoned and left to die. Myths become a reality and these two twins find that out on their eighteenth birthday. Their powers are only surfacing and the danger ahead is unbelievable.... But there are people trying to protect them, as well as gods and goddesses. Iris's surfing dream is put on hold when a fishy situation changes her and her sister into new beings. Where are the twin's parents? What threat is trying to surface?

I loved this book. Greek Mythology is my favorite, but I love all mythology. The author gave Lanie some freaky flaws and I found myself slightly disgusted by Lanie's catty spoiledness. I can't wait to read the second book!! This is a book for all ages and there is barely any romance. The romance in this book isn't consuming... It is just a cute little side of the story.

My Review

This is Shaded Colored Lies by R.E. Danielle and T.D. Dean. This book is more of a short story and it is 125 pages long.

From a young age, Avery Foster has been getting told lies and being withheld from the truth. When Avery meets a young man named Kage, she feel attracted to him almost immediately. There s a war going on and she is right in the middle. To fight in a war she must have the strength and allies to do so. Avery will learn of her fate and how to control her growing powers.

I really loved the romance in this. I like books with the concept of soulmates and finding your true love. The concept of this book itself, is very interesting. There were some really humorous moments. This book is a mix of my favorite stuff in one book. The only thing that I would recommend is not to let tweens or younger read this book without a parent reading it first. Other than that... Congrats on two great authors working together to make this AWESOME book!!

Her friend, Fred, knows this secret, but didn't get to tell due to his impromptu death. Will Taylor see past Jesse's secrets and enter the world of supernatural or will she leave before her life has even began? How is Jesse tied to the supernatural world? What secrets lie at Big Bear Lake?

I loved this book! It was a great change from the same old vampire lore and myths. In this book, there are different bloodlines of vampires all having different abilities. I don't think that I've ever read a book that spoke of a vampire actually being birthed instead of created. Well done, Chrissy Peebles! I know this GREAT author has written many books and I even own quite a few of them. I highly recommend her books. I hope to read her second book to this series, because of what people have told me of this series. The only real problem I had was the fact that this was labeled as a werewolf novel as well as vampire, but there was only a tiny part the werewolves played. Not much was said about them. I was also kind of insulted by the fact that Chrissy Peebles wrote teen dialogue like she did. Teenagers aren't like that at all and if people think that... Lets just say they are very mistaken!

This is the first book in a two book series by Morgan Sheppard. This is a 105 page book.

Marella has always wanted to be a Water Weaver and she didn't think it possible till the day of the Test. She is different from everyone and after she gets her Partner Nixie her parents realize this too. Daren, her best friend, and herself are going to training with all the elements to balance out. Not only does Marella meet new people, but she learns to cope with her new life. There are things she doesn't know, but she will learn of her Calling soon enough.

This was a great book! I definitely recommend people to read this book before reading "Water Weaver", because you will get confused. This book went by fast and was full of detail. I actually felt like I was walking to the Water Lodge and like I was actually at the Testing. This is a book for all ages. Great job, Morgan Sheppard!!

This is Skin and Bones by Susan Harris. This book is 281 pages long.

Have you ever known deep inside yourself that you had another purpose in life, but it was just out of reach? Well, Ever has always felt that way, but when a series of strange murders cause her uncle to call her into duty at the P.I.T. ,  Ever learns she isn't alone in her feelings. Derek Doyle is a lone wolf that believes that it takes a monster to find a monster. He has tried to isolate himself from his friends until he meets Ever Chace, a studier of all things paranormal. There is a strange bond that is pulling them together, but they can't catch the murderer if they are too busy thinking about each other. They realize this the hard way when a human member of their team is captured by the murderer. With the full moon a few days away, Derek is on edge to find the murderer and get away from humanity for the full day that he will be wolfed-out. Ever is no mere human, but she doesn't know the voices in her head and her dreams are part of her past. She must find her way back to her real family, with the help of Derek. Will they save their friend and end the murders that are killing teens? Who is Ever, really? What kind of secrets are hidden from the P.I.T. ?

This was a great book from the start and it held a steady pace. There was problems with the labeling of the book, though. This book was supposed to be clean teen, but this is more of a New Adult read. Ever has very adult thoughts for Derek and they are explained graphically. There are other implications, as well as the F-Bomb dropped a few times. The thoughts are few, though, so this could be considered Young Adult. I would have definitely gave this a better rating if it had actually been labeled right. I would love to read the next book, if it was actual clean teen. All I'm saying is that parental descresion is advised. I think that's what they say in the movies!?! 

Book Review: I Do Believe in Faeries - The Fairy Revels Collection

My Review

This is "I Do Believe in Faeries" by Erin Hayes. This book is 168 pages long.

Abby feels like she is an outcast in her own home, because of the fact that everyone but her can cast magick. Abby's older sister's friend is pregnant and Abby is in a bit of a predicament. When Abby makes a deal with some pixies to get magick, but the sacrifice needed isn't hers to give. Her friend's baby is being offered to one of the four Fae courts. Only with the help of a strong and mischievous fae can she find the baby. There are many obstacles, but the biggest is the possibility that she can't leave the fae realm, Tir na nÓg. Abby is falling for the fae and is even thinking about giving up her magick for him and the baby. Who is this fae? Which realm is the baby in? Will Abby leave the fae realm?

This was a great book. Erin Hayes definitely captured the fae realm in all of it's beautiful glory with an exotic use of descriptive words. Erin Hayes descriptions of the fae lands made me feel like I was actually there with Abby. Abby is a strong character with slight anger issues(if you know what I mean. wink, wink.) This is definitely a book for all ages and has a happy ending.

The negatives about this book are the length and the cover. The book cover seems a bit unprofessional. The reason the length is a negative is because I wanted more!

This story was really cute and super good. I devoured it in one sitting and seriously found myself saying "Oh please more!".

 

It is well written and you really feel this is the story that the fairy tales forgot to include. I found myself hating Cinderella and believing that she really was just some spoiled dramatic girl who exaggerated her treatment and played the victim.

I would happily read more stories like this by the author.

My Review

This is a Novel Anthology called "Fractured Glass" by Tia Silverthorne Bach, Jo Michaels, N.L. Greene, Casey L. Bond, and Kelly Risser. This book is 424 pages long.

The Glass sisters, Sloan and Harley, have always moved around with their mom and didn't even ask questions. When they settle in a place they soon call home, they are surprised by the secrets their mom has kept from them. Not only are they twins, but they have the same dreams and whenever their birthmarks touch a map of new worlds can be formed. These worlds are called fractals and only when Sloan gives her best friend, Diego, a journal of various notes and pictures does he figure out the truth. The twin's father is looking to use them for his own selfish needs of taking over the fractals and there is only two people in the world with enough power to do it... Harley and Sloan's powers joined. Now they must race among the fractals making allies and surviving to find each other again. Elba, ruler over the Castle of Nightmares, has her own agenda, but is willing to help imprison the twin's father. Who are these new allies? Why does the father need the twins? What is Elba's agenda?

This had a very interesting concept... I mean, I don't particularly like the Sci-Fi genre, but it was still a good read. And the way that all of thee authors continued each others stories was great and very well-done. It was pretty slow in the beginning, but it really started to progress. There was also the confusing parts that, to me, weren't explained thoroughly. Like, how exactly Sloan and Harley got home so quickly unlike other times when they had to transverse many fractals. There are a few minor errors, but it was masked with the well-written plot and complex characters. This is definitely a book for all ages and can relate to many teens. I give a round of applause to all of these great authors banding together to create a Novel Anthology!!!
