Book Review: Light of Dawn - The Dawn Trilogy Series

Synopsis

When Dawn’s soul mate, Angelo, leaves town with another girl, he steals all hope of mending their relationship. However, this allows the bond with her guardian angel, Gabe, to grow. But their love can’t save them from what is to come.
When their greatest fear becomes a terrifying reality, their limits will be pushed and tested. Dawn’s strange abilities are finally revealed, and she begins to realize her full potential. Now she must decide if she will run or fight.

My Review
This is the third book of the Dawn Trilogy written by Komali da Silva. This book is 247 pages long.

Dawn's mom died and she basically lost both her parents. To make it less confusing.... Angels do exist and Dawn's dad was her mom's Guardian Angel! When Dawn's mom died, so did he, per say. Dawn is half angel, half human, the first of her kind... Stuck in both worlds in a war that revolves around her. Gabe, her Guardian Angel, has protected her and taken care of her after Angelo, her ex guardian and ex boyfriend, got burned and lost his charge. War is raging and demons are taking over the city and possessing the citizens. The angel elders can't do anything without proof that the prophecy is true about Dawn being the High Priestess. Her powers are getting stronger and the cards have been played... She will be the light that will save, her being the High Priestess, but there will be death, one of them someone close to her that she loves dearly. Will Dawn run or fight? Who can she trust? Which of her loved ones will live or die?

This was an epic battle of love, lust, and tears! I cried at the very end, but it was still a great book. The battle was epic and Dawn's powers were kick-butt! The only problem that I had was the F-Bomb being dropped a few times. Three times I think.... It wasn't as much as most the books I've read so that's good. I wish there was another book to this series..

My Review
This is the eighth book of a nine book series written by James Patterson. This book is 368 pages long.

This is the final chapter. Not all is how it seems and Max has a problem. Fang si in trouble and Ari might not be as dead as everyone thought. Max is falling for Dylan head over heels. When voices return the flock to their mission, Fang comes back to protect Max, but that puts a kink in Dylan's plan. Dylan isn't as he seems and neither is many of the others. Max's mom found a paradise to keep the mutants safe. Max can still save the mutants, but the humans are as good as dead. There is a new virus that will kill everyone. Angel can see Max's death, uh oh!! Will Fang and Max be together again? Is Max gonna die?

It was so unbelievable. The ending was very unexpected and awesome. I always rooted for Fang and Max.I teared up at the end, though. I'm done with this series though so my schedule for indie books is open.

Book Review: Maximum Ride: Angel - The Maximum Ride Series

Synopsis

In the seventh book in the bestselling series, evil scientists are still trying to convince Max that she needs to save the world, this time by providing the genetic link in speeding up the pace of evolution. Worse, they're trying to convince her that her perfect mate is Dylan, the newest addition to the flock. The problem is that, despite herself, Max is starting to believe it.

Fang travels the country collecting his own gang of evolved humans, but the two separate flocks must unite to defeat a frightening doomsday cult whose motto is Save the Planet: Kill the Humans. And this time, the true heroine, for once, might just be little Angel.

My Review

This is the seventh book of a nine book series by James Patterson. This book is 320 pages long.

The gig is still on for Max. She needs to save the world from a new "cult" that is going global saying "Kill the humans!" The flock has to blend and figure out how to stop this group. On top of that, Max is having unusual feelings for Dylan, the hot new member of the flock. Scientists like Dr. G-H, want Dylan and Max to reproduce, hahaha! The flock hasn't talked about Fang since he left, but they say something on his blog. Fang is trying to save the world, too with his new gang, including Max 2. Max and Fang's gang have to work together. This "cult" is brainwashing everyone, including Ella, Max's half sister, and Iggy. The One light is upon them an they have to become part of the group to stop them. Someone will be killed. Who will be killed? Will Dylan win Max's heart?

This was a great book, but it was very tear-filled. It was very suspenseful and full of action-packed fights. I can't wait to read Nevermore. After Nevermore, I will read "The Light of Dawn" since I don't have access to the ninth book of Maximum Ride "Maximum Ride Forever"!

Book Review: Maximum Ride: Fang - The Maximum Ride Series

Synopsis

Angel says that Fang will be the first to die, and Angel is never wrong. Maximum Ride is used to living desperately on the run from evil forces sabotaging her quest to save the world--but nothing has ever come as close to destroying her as this horrifying prophetic message. Fang is Max's best friend, her soul mate, her partner in the leadership of her flock of winged children. A life without Fang is a life unimaginable.

When a newly created winged boy, the magnificent Dylan, is introduced into the flock, their world is upended yet again. Raised in a lab like the others, Dylan exists for only one reason: he was designed to be Max's perfect other half. Thus unfolds a battle of perfection versus passion that terrifies, twists, and turns . . . and meanwhile, the apocalypse is coming.

My Review

This is the sixth book out of a nine book series written by James Patterson. This book is 337 pages long.

Max has to save the planet, by helping one person at a time. Guess what, Max and the flock are going to Africa. Angel has made a very dreadful statement... Fang will be the first to die. max and Fang have been like siblings forever, and just recently they have become sort of an item. Max just can't live without Fang. While Max and the flock are in Africa, they meet Dr. Hans and Dylan. Dylan is supposed to be Max's perfect match, with wings. There is a betrayer in the flock. And a new force is awakening, What is this new force? Is Dylan the perfect match? Is Fang really going to be the first to die?

When I read this synopsis, I freaked! Fang is the tall, dark, and handsome guy of your dreams. This ending is so not what I expected and it ended with a cliff-hanger. I was sitting at the edge of my seat the whole time. With new twists and turns, this book was awesome. I can't wait to read the next book. I'm almost done with this series. It is a book for almost all ages.

I liked this book, but it isn't my favorite. It was still a great read, though. It was full of suspense and very action-packed. I was rooting for Max and Fang all along! I can't wait to read the next books! James Patterson is ery good at making you feel like your in the book.

Book Review: Maximum Ride: The Final Warning - The Maximum Ride Series

Synopsis

Hold on tight for the wildest ride yet as Max and the flock take on global warming--Earth's biggest threat--in this #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Maximum Ride and the other members of the flock are just like ordinary kids--only they have wings and can fly. It seems like a dream come true...until they're hunted by the world's nastiest villains.

Max returns in a chilling adventure unlike any other. Safe havens for the six highly-sought-after winged kids have become increasingly hard to find, so the flock takes refuge in Antarctica with a team of environmentalists studying the effects of global warming. In this remote wilderness--whether pursued by corrupt governments, bioengineered bad-guys, or the harsh forces of nature--survival of the fittest takes a new twist!

My Review

This is the fourth book in the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. This book is 273 pages long.

Saving the world may be easier than Max thought.... Just kidding! Max hates the cold, but saving the world was never coined as glamorous. A team of scientists in Antarctica are trying to save the world from global warming. Fang is keeping up his blog and telling people to help make a change against global warming. The flock isn't as safe as people hoped. There are mysterious new threats approaching and a silent sniper targeting them. That's not the worst part though. New abilities are coming into there lives and the scientist and ex-father, Jeb, says they never got programmed. There is a lovely romance between Max and her mystery lover. Mystery, as in, she would never expect it. Is the flock mutating into something new? Who is this mysterious lover?

I loved this book, even though it was short. It was 273 pages of feathery goodness that many can enjoy. I am on the fifth book now and I am so excited. I don't usually like romance, but this is a great change in scenery. I feel like I am part of the flock, because of how complex and well-written the characters are. James Patterson is a great writer and I can't wait to read more! After I finish with this series, I am going to read the third book of the Dawn Trilogy, Light of Dawn. I am so excited to read it, since there was a cliff-hanger in the second book!!!

Book Review: Maximum Ride: Saving the World - The Maximum Ride Series

Synopsis

In MAXIMUM RIDE: SAVING THE WORLD AND OTHER EXTREME SPORTS, the time has arrived for Max and her winged "Flock" to face their ultimate enemy and discover their original purpose: to defeat the takeover of "Re-evolution", a sinister experiment to re-engineer a select population into a scientifically superior master race...and to terminate the rest. Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel have always worked together to defeat the forces working against them--but can they save the world when they are torn apart, living in hiding and captivity, halfway across the globe from one another?

My Review

This is the third book of the Maximum Ride series. It is 417 pages long, too.

Max and the Flock are on, yet another, adventure. Itex is a huge incorporation all around the world and it is also the people trying to destroy it. Max learned that the School was funded by Itex, so that is where they are going to start. Another test is in order for Max and the Flock.... Can they stand to have the cretin, Ari, join their flock. He saved them from certain death and comforted Max when she learned of whom gave birth to her. With Ari around conflict engraves itself in the group and the flock splits. Fang and Max both take on the role of leadership to their mini groups. Max sets her priorities on finding the Itex Headquarters, while Fang begins saving the world through his blog. Max is in trouble and all of the stuff the flock has been through could have been a test! What is going on? Who is Max's parents?

I loved the twists in this book and the suspense. It truly surprised me. I can usually tell what is going to happen, because of the clues throughout the story, but I didn't think of this books twists. I love the romance that James Patterson has sewn into the pages. It's very strange, but refreshing. I love this book series so far! I can't help, but keep reading, because whenever I get into a good book series.... It's almost impossible to stop, unless the next book hasn't come out yet. This book series, so far, is for a wide variety of kids. There is mild cussing, like once in a while it says hell, but it's in the right context most of the time.

Book Review: Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever - The Maximum Ride Series

Synopsis

Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride and the other members of the "Flock"--Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel--are just like ordinary kids--only they have wings and can fly. It seems like a dream come true--except that they're being hunted by half-human, half-wolf "Erasers" who can fly, too.

In Book 2 of the series, the Flock members are taken under the wing of an FBI agent and try to live "normal" lives by going to school, making friends--and continuing their relentless search for their parents. But the Erasers return, forcing the Flock to abandon their search and make their escape once again. The voice inside Max's head keeps telling her that it's up to her to save the world, but this is especially challenging to do when she is faced with her ultimate match: a newer and better version of herself, Maximum Ride II. Max's heart-stopping quest to investigate the mind-blowing mystery of her ultimate destiny continues in the scariest, strangest, and funniest James Patterson novel yet.

My Review

This is the second book in a nine book series written by James Patterson. This book is 416 pages long.

Max and the flock are all back together again and Max has a new "ability". She has a voice in her head... Don't be so surprised, everyone does. It tells Max fortune cookie worthy advice about saving the world. Only now it's getting harder to save such a damaged world. Flying Erasers is a new development and they are chasing the flock. Ari is among the flying erasers and he is full a furious revenge. For those of you that haven't read the first book, Max snapped Ari's neck! While searching for a permanent place to stay, Fang is gravely injured. Next thing they know Fang is in the hospital with the FBI asking all kinds of questions. The director of the FBI moves the flock to her house to keep a lock on the evil scientists' experiments. And, get this, Anne, the FBI Director, wants the flock to go to school! Actual school not that lab full of half-half DNA samples. Only Max isn't really Max. There is two of them, but where is the real Max? Why is the voice telling her to save the world?

I loved this book, too! It was full of suspense and very detailed. It was worded right, so when original Max met new-and-improved Max, you knew exactly which was which. How weird would it be to talk to the spitting image of yourself, even fighting yourself. I mean, you would have the same tactics and fight the same way. To me, it would be like looking in a mirror. I feel like I can really connect to the characters and I was having trouble putting the book down. Gosh, it would be a dream come true to have an author interview with James Patterson! He's probably really busy, but a blogger can dream.

Book Review: Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment - The Maximum Ride Series

Synopsis

In James Patterson's blockbuster series, fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride, better known as Max, knows what it's like to soar above the world. She and all the members of the "flock"--Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel--are just like ordinary kids--only they have wings and can fly. It may seem like a dream come true to some, but their lives can morph into a living nightmare at any time...like when Angel, the youngest member of the flock, is kidnapped and taken back to the "School" where she and the others were experimented on by a crew of wack jobs. Her friends brave a journey to blazing hot Death Valley, CA, to save Angel, but soon enough, they find themselves in yet another nightmare--this one involving fighting off the half-human, half-wolf "Erasers" in New York City. Whether in the treetops of Central Park or in the bowels of the Manhattan subway system, Max and her adopted family take the ride of their lives. Along the way Max discovers from her old friend and father-figure Jeb--now her betrayed and greatest enemy--that her purpose is save the world--but can she?

My Review

James Patterson has wrote many books, but Maximum Ride is the book series I'm focused on at the moment. This is book one of a nine book series. This book is 464 pages long.

Max and the flock have been on the run ever since they escaped the dreaded "School", or this lab full of evil geniuses that do experiments. Not just little cute lab experiments, either. They are special scientists that use recombined DNA and transfer it to an infant's DNA structure! Yeah, Max and the flock have wings and other amazing abilities that they haven't even began to imagine. Jeb, one of the scientists that broke them out of the school, has been "missing for a while now. Max is the leader and after the youngest member of the flock, Angel, is captured by those scientists, Max has o come up with a plan. The flock is having a hard time saving Angel when every time the flock turns around there are at least five Erasers, half human-half wolf recombined DNA forms, chasing them. Max and Fang leave Gazzy and Iggy, whose blind, at their hidden house and head toward Death Valley to get Angel back. Death Valley, I know how ironic it sounds.... All Max can think about is getting Angel back with her brother, Gazzy, them being the only two related in the flock and all. Who knows the vile and repulsive tests the evil scientists are running on Angel. And that's not even the worst part..... Max is supposed to save the world! Who is she saving the world from and why?

I loooved this book!!! I've read the first book before, but that was a long time ago. This book series is full of lots of suspense. Have I said how much I love this book yet!?! I'm going to read all of this series, if possible. I'm already on the third book. James Patterson is a great author with many successful books and I'm going to see if he has anymore young adult books. This would make a great movie series, as well. I would definitely watch it if it was a movie series! I hope it becomes a movie series, because they were talking about it becoming one and it never did so I don't know.
