Synopsis
Now, she’d like nothing more than to retreat into a hermit lifestyle to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. But startling revelations, amazing new abilities, and mortifying moments in front of insanely hot guys won’t allow time for that. Soon, Celeste finds herself surrounded by darkness and wondering who she can trust—if anyone.
My Review
After I interviewed Stacey Rourke's first book, "The Conduit", she sent me this book and the 3rd book. I was so excited and I can't wait to read the 3rd book! It is 252 pages long and as most of you know it is written by Stacey Rourke.
Celeste started going to college and working at a coffee shop to try and feel normal again, but wherever she goes, demons follow. She can't put anyone at risk, so she quits. There are a lot of secrets going on in the group that is supposed to save humanity. One of them involves Alec; and his changes. She meets this guy named Kaleb and falls for him instantly. She finally decides she is ready to help Alec, but soon discovers he doesn't want to be helped at all. The group doesn't just have to worry about the dark army anymore.....because Alec and his army are challenging the dark army.
I thought it was very cool how someone of light could fall in love with someone of dark. I also like how Stacey Rourke put made most of the demons deceitful, because there are books and movies that make them out to be nice. Let me tell you something, demons are just wolves in sheeps' clothes. But, some of the demons did not choose their fate.... It was forced on them!
